Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Magictools collects, what it does not collect, and how the site works today.

Who we are
Magictools operates https://magictools.si (magictools.si). For privacy questions or requests, contact toolsmagic@proton.me.
Summary
Magictools is designed to process your tool input and forget it. We do not require accounts, we do not permanently store submitted URLs or video IDs, and we do not keep a permanent history of your downloads. Optional analytics and advertising are turned off by default.
Website image scans
Website Image Downloader sends the public page URL to an isolated server worker. It temporarily holds the URL, discovered references, image files, and ZIP archives to provide previews and downloads. Results expire 15 minutes after completion or 20 minutes after starting, whichever comes first. Cancelling deletes the temporary scan data. Worker restarts also clear temporary jobs.
An essential, HttpOnly session cookie connects you to your own scan and expires after one day. Temporary hashes derived from network addresses enforce fair-use limits; these are not download history. Submitted URLs, source contents, and cookies are excluded from application logs. The destination website receives requests from our scanner. No user login cookies are sent to it.
Website analysis
Website Analyzer sends the public URL to the Magictools server, which fetches that page without your browser cookies or login credentials. The returned HTML is processed in memory to extract metadata, SEO signals, and supported technology indicators. The server also contacts public DNS resolvers and the relevant public RDAP service to retrieve domain registration and DNS records. It uses Team Cymru's community DNS service to map the connected IP to a public BGP origin ASN, then may contact the relevant regional internet registry's RDAP service for registration details.
A separate visual request may load the same public page in an isolated browser with JavaScript enabled. It can temporarily process a desktop screenshot, favicon, Open Graph image, and Twitter Card image. These images are bounded, converted to safe preview formats in memory, returned directly with the current result, and discarded after the response. Magictools does not retain screenshot files, public screenshot links, or visual history.
For SEO discovery, the server may request the final origin's robots.txt and verify up to three declared sitemap resources without crawling their URL inventories. For security reporting, it performs a direct, certificate-verified TLS connection to the already validated public address and retains only a summarized certificate and connection result.
The submitted URL, source HTML, and completed report are not stored as analysis history. The destination website receives a request from the Magictools server. Private, local, reserved, authenticated, and non-standard-port destinations are blocked.
Technology and security checks may inspect response cookies. Cookie values are discarded immediately. Only the cookie name, source hostname, Secure, HttpOnly, SameSite, and prefix validity are retained for the current report. Cookie records, infrastructure lookups, and fingerprint results are not stored as history or returned as raw evidence.
What we collect today
Magictools processes only the information needed to operate each tool. When you use a tool, your URL is sent only as needed to fetch the requested public page, thumbnail, or cover. That input is not saved as history on our systems.
If analytics is enabled in the future, Magictools may record anonymous usage events such as page paths (for example /tools/youtube-thumbnail-downloader) and generic tool IDs. Analytics is configured never to include submitted URLs, video IDs, downloaded file names, or error message text shown to you.
What we never collect
- Permanent copies of submitted website, video, or channel URLs
- Permanent copies of fetched website HTML or analyzer reports
- Permanent copies of extracted platform IDs, downloaded image URLs, or file names
- Names, email addresses, or accounts (unless you email us directly)
- Cross-site profiles or persistent advertising identifiers while analytics and ads are disabled
Local storage in your browser
Magictools stores your theme preference (light or dark mode) in your browser's local storage so the site remembers your choice. This stays on your device and is not sent to our servers.
Third-party services
To provide tools, Magictools may contact third-party services when you submit a link, including:
- YouTube and Vimeo public thumbnail or oEmbed endpoints
- Bilibili's public API and CDN (with optional same-origin proxy for preview)
- Twitch Helix API (server-side only, using application credentials)
- Platform CDNs that host thumbnail and cover images
- The public website you submit to Website Analyzer
- Public DNS resolvers and RDAP registry or registrar services used by Website Analyzer
- Team Cymru's community IP-to-ASN DNS service
- The submitted site's robots.txt and up to three public sitemap resources
- Public page resources loaded temporarily by the isolated Website Analyzer screenshot browser
Those services have their own privacy policies. Magictools does not control how they process network requests from our servers or your browser.
If we enable privacy-friendly analytics or advertising in the future, we will update this policy to name the providers and describe any cookies or similar technologies they use.
Cookies
Magictools does not set tracking cookies while analytics and advertising are disabled. If either feature is enabled later, third-party providers may use cookies or similar technologies. We will update this page before enabling them and describe any consent steps required.
Legal bases (GDPR)
Where EU data protection law applies, we rely on legitimate interest to operate the website and provide the tools you request. If we introduce optional analytics or ads that require consent, we will ask for that consent before activating them.
This summary is not legal advice. If you are unsure how the law applies to you, consult a qualified professional.
Retention
Magictools has no permanent tool history. Website Analyzer data and visual bytes exist only while its requests and current browser result are processed. Website image scans are temporarily retained within the limits described above. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, request time, and page requested) for security and operations. We do not use those logs to build user profiles.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data, or to object to certain processing. Because we collect little personal data by default, there is often nothing for us to retrieve — but you can still contact us at toolsmagic@proton.me.
You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. EU residents can find guidance from the European Data Protection Board.
Children
Magictools is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
