More about this tool

Overview

Website Font Finder combines stylesheet parsing with a rendered browser pass so you can see both what CSS requests and what actually loads. It inspects HTML, linked CSS, @font-face rules, Google Fonts and Adobe Fonts links, CSS variables such as Tailwind font tokens, and computed typography on semantic elements after fonts load. Results stay in your browser, exports are created locally, and no account is required.

Declared vs rendered fonts

Most font checkers only read CSS. This tool reports both what stylesheets request and what the browser actually renders after fonts load. When a webfont fails or a fallback wins, the declared-vs-rendered table shows the difference.

HTTP and HTTPS public URLs

Paste a full URL or a bare domain. Domains default to https://, but you can enter http:// when a site is still served over plain HTTP. Private networks, localhost, and authenticated pages are blocked for safety.

License labels: known vs not confirmed

The font inventory shows a license label when the source is recognizable. Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts, Bunny Fonts, Fontshare, and system fonts get typical terms with a reference link when available. Self-hosted files, icon fonts, and unknown stacks are marked not confirmed because CSS cannot prove redistribution rights.

Use the label as a starting point, not legal advice. Confirm the exact license on the vendor site or purchase receipt before embedding or redistributing a typeface.

Logo and screenshot fonts need a different tool

This is a URL typography checker, not an image matcher like WhatTheFont. If the brand mark is baked into a PNG or SVG, upload-based identification is a separate workflow.

Privacy and limits

The submitted URL is sent only to analyze public typography for that request and is not stored as history. Login walls, bot challenges, canvas-only text, and unreadable stylesheets may limit coverage. Font files are linked, not re-hosted.

For broader page intelligence, try Website Analyzer or Social Preview.

Frequently asked questions

Does this check fonts from a URL or from an image?

URL only. Paste a public page link to inspect declared CSS and rendered typography. Logo or screenshot matching like WhatTheFont is a different workflow.

What is the difference between declared and rendered fonts?

Declared fonts come from HTML and CSS, including @font-face and Google Fonts links. Rendered fonts come from a headless browser after document.fonts.ready, using computed styles on body, headings, paragraphs, links, buttons, and code.

Does it work on JavaScript-heavy sites?

Yes, when the rendered pass completes. Static-only tools miss CSS-in-JS and wrapper-class body fonts. If the browser pass is blocked, declared CSS results are still shown.

Do you support http:// and https:// URLs?

Yes. Bare domains default to https://. Enter http:// explicitly when a site is still served over plain HTTP. Private and local destinations are blocked.

Can I download the font files?

No. Magictools links to discovered font file URLs and reports metadata only. It does not re-host or redistribute proprietary font files.

Does the tool show font licenses?

Yes. Each inventory entry includes a license label when the source is recognizable (Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts, Bunny Fonts, Fontshare, or system fonts) and marks self-hosted or unknown faces as not confirmed. CSS alone cannot prove redistribution rights, so treat unconfirmed labels as a reminder to verify vendor terms before reuse.

Do you store submitted URLs?

No permanent history is created. The URL is sent only to analyze public typography for that request and is not saved as a report history entry.
