Magictools · sitemap.xml
Sitemap generator
Enter your site URL, discover public pages, and download sitemap.xml. URL lists stay in your browser unless you opt in to discovery.
Or add URLs manually under Edit URLs, or import XML under Advanced.
Enter your site URL in the field above, then open this tab to review results or edit the list.
How discovery works
Discovery reads robots.txt and your public sitemap tree (preview is capped). Without a sitemap it follows links with a bounded crawl—not a million-page spider in one request.
How it works
Discover URLs or add them manually, preview XML, then download and publish at your site root.
- Step 1
Discover or add URLs
Enter your site and opt in to discover public URLs, or add URLs under Edit URLs.
- Step 2
Preview the XML
Review the live XML preview, metadata toggles, and audit notes.
- Step 3
Download and publish
Download the file and publish it at your site root, then add a Sitemap line in robots.txt.
More about this tool
Sitemap Generator starts with your site URL. Opt in to discover pages from your public sitemap—or a short same-origin link sample when no sitemap is found—then edit URLs, tune optional lastmod, changefreq, and priority under Advanced, and preview standards-compliant XML. Tags that appear in an imported sitemap turn on automatically; link-only discovery adds URLs without metadata. changefreq and priority stay off by default because Google Search ignores them. Large lists auto-split into a sitemap index. Copy, download, or ZIP the files, add a robots.txt Sitemap line, and use deploy snippets for static hosting or Next.js. URL lists stay in your browser unless you explicitly run discovery.
Frequently asked questions
Does a sitemap guarantee Google will index my pages?
No. A sitemap helps crawlers discover the URLs you list. Indexing depends on quality, signals, and crawl budget. It is a hint, not a promise.
Does Google use changefreq or priority?
No. Google Search ignores changefreq and priority. This tool keeps them off by default. Use lastmod only when the page content meaningfully changed.
What is lastmod in a sitemap?
lastmod is the date the page content last changed in a meaningful way. Google may use accurate lastmod as a hint; wrong dates or bulk “today” values hurt trust. Discover or import can turn lastmod on when your public sitemap already includes it.
Do you store my URL list?
No. Building, paste import, and validation run in your browser. Site discovery runs only after you opt in, and it is not kept as history.
What are the file size limits?
Each sitemap file can list up to 50,000 URLs and about 50 MB uncompressed. Larger lists are split into a sitemap index plus part files.
Can Magictools crawl my whole website?
No. Discover walks your public sitemap index when available and offers a server-side ZIP export for the full list (within fair-use limits). Without a sitemap, a bounded link crawl runs—it is not a million-page spider. You can always add URLs manually or import XML under Advanced.
